XR Extras
A curated collection of haptic devices, management software, hygiene best practices, and published research to support your XR journey.
Haptic Technology
From gloves to body suits, check out haptics companies bringing the sense of touch to VR/AR/XR.
Haply Robotics
Haply Robotics creates touch-enabled haptic devices for immersive simulation, robotic control, and 3D design. Their flagship Inverse3 device brings intuitive spatial interaction to healthcare training, vocational simulation, and physical AI applications. Partners include NVIDIA, Unity, Pfizer, and Amazon — and they are two-time CES 2026 Innovation Honorees.
Peregrine VR Glove
The Peregrine VR Glove is the easy-to-use VR glove built for natural hand presence without sacrificing controller functionality. Proprietary touch-sensing technology converts finger touches into controller inputs, with plug-and-play Steam VR support out of the box for thousands of applications. Form-fitting and compact — perfect for workforce training simulations.

SenseGlove
SenseGlove develops force and haptic feedback gloves that enable professionals to feel virtual objects and interact with them more efficiently for VR training purposes. SenseGlove's proprietary force feedback technology enables lifelike interactions — allowing users to feel size, density and resistance of virtual objects. Unlike controllers, the gloves allow you to hold, push, touch, connect and squeeze the virtual like it's real.
VR/AR Management Software
Tools to remotely manage, deploy, and control XR headsets and content at scale.
ArborXR
ArborXR lets you confidently manage VR devices with complete control. Securely enroll and configure a range of devices, update settings, monitor usage, remotely install apps, and control what users see in the headset — ideal for classrooms and training environments with 50+ headsets.
UP360
UP360 is a mobile device management (MDM) platform designed for XR devices. It enables institutions to remotely deploy content, manage device settings, and monitor headset fleets from a single dashboard, simplifying operations across large-scale deployments.
ManageXR
ManageXR is a leading XR device management platform trusted by thousands of organizations including Johnson & Johnson, Columbia University, and the Kentucky Department of Education. Features include kiosk mode, remote app deployment, real-time device control, live classroom monitoring via Rooms, and analytics — compatible with Meta Quest, Pico, HTC Vive, Magic Leap, and more.
Meta Horizon Managed Services (HMS)
Meta's first-party MDM solution for managing Meta Quest devices at scale. HMS is free and required to enroll Quest devices with third-party MDM platforms like ManageXR or ArborXR. It provides enterprise-grade device enrollment, security controls, and fleet management capabilities directly from Meta for education, healthcare, and enterprise deployments.
VR Headset Hygiene
Best practices and products for keeping shared VR headsets clean and safe in healthcare and education settings.
UV-C Sanitizing Boxes — Cleanbox Technology
Cleanbox is the gold standard in UVC LED disinfection for shared XR devices, trusted by 2,000+ enterprise clients worldwide including healthcare, education, and government. Their patented systems eliminate 99.999% of pathogens in just 1 minute — 100× more effective than wipes — with no chemicals, no heat, and no damage to lenses or electronics. Products include the CX1 (1 device), CX2 (2 devices), Omniclean (multiple devices), and storage/charging cart bundles for up to 24 headsets.
Disposable Face Pads
Single-use foam or silicone face pads that fit over the standard facial interface of most headsets. Replace between each user to eliminate cross-contamination risk — especially important in clinical and simulation lab settings.
Antibacterial / Alcohol Wipes
Non-abrasive antibacterial wipes can be used to wipe down the headset body, controllers, face cushion, and nose area. Avoid using alcohol directly on lenses — use a dry microfiber cloth instead to prevent lens damage.
Silicone or Faux Leather Facial Interfaces
Replacing foam facial interfaces with silicone or faux leather alternatives makes cleaning between users much easier. These surfaces can be wiped clean with disinfecting wipes and do not absorb sweat or bacteria.
Nitrile Gloves During Cleaning
Use nitrile gloves while cleaning and dispose of gloves after each use. Between cleanings, wash hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer before and after touching headset equipment.
