The Husker STEM VR project is an outreach/recruitment app built for the Meta Quest, iOS, Android, and Web App. Students built this virtual reality app for UNL's School of Computing and College of Engineering to encourage STEM outreach. This app began to help to make learning fun by creating a virtual reality app designed to create an engaging learning environment. Now that VR app has been extended to include multiple mobile platforms to increase the distribution even further. Additionally, we can promote more diversity in STEM by creating an educational environment that promotes inclusiveness.

Rollover ranch is a fun and educational IVR game that simulates tractor, ATV, and electrical safety. Tractor and ATV rollovers are the biggest cause of farm-related deaths each year. UNMC College of Nursing wants to supplement its nursing curriculum and provide public safety education to the Ag community, especially the youth in hopes of promoting Ag safety. The game allows the user to drive around a farm and complete different activities, all while operating the equipment safely and avoiding hazards. If the player takes proper safety measures, they should be able to complete the activities and survive to tell their friends. Work the farm and learn about safety, all are welcome to download and join in the fun. Nurse's Escape - The Heart of the Problem is a VR game that simulates an escape room based on heart disease awareness. The purpose of this project is to develop Immersive Virtual Reality Escape Rooms focused on Heart Disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States. One person dies every 36 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease. We want to educate and capture the interest of nursing students and professional nurses through the use of this game. The purpose is to supplement nurse's lecture-style curriculum with an interactive way to test nurse’s Sepsis knowledge. Sepsis is one of the leading causes of deaths and hospitalizations yearly, so equipping nurses with the right skills and information to treat sepsis in a timely manner can save lives and money. Free Software-The Career Explore XR project created and deployed a fully functional VR application on the Meta Quest 3. This app will allow middle and high school students to explore several potential career opportunities in technical trades, healthcare roles, as well as other career paths that don't necessarily require a 4-year degree, all within an extended reality environment. This experience highlights how these careers support critical sectors such as the construction of AI data centers, healthcare, and other essential industries. The app is now available via Meta Quest store, Android, iOS, and Web App.
